ABOUT

Luis Zavala Tapia is a Mexican-born artist based in Long Beach. He holds an MFA from California Institute of the Arts and a BFA in painting from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Zavala’s art practice centers on the importance of being seen as our own selves in a world where many feel unseen or misrepresented. Zavala’s paintings, murals, sculptures, videos and workshops, explore healing and attaining self-autonomy.
